Every six months, we make the pilgrimage to New Mexico for Eladris’s doctor appointments. It’s a rhythm we’ve settled into—a necessary journey, but one we’ve chosen to infuse with intention, exploration, and magic. We never stay long, but we always make it count.
This time, we brought Celeste along—Eladris’s age-mate and fellow seeker. It’s become tradition to invite one or two of the kids to join us, turning these trips into miniature quests. Familiar stops like Eclectic Treasures and the spaceship McDonald’s in Roswell anchor us in nostalgia. They’re part of our ritual, grounding us in the known before we leap into the unknown.
But this trip… this trip was different.
In Albuquerque, we climbed to the top of Black Volcano, one of the ancient sentinels watching over the desert. The wind whispered stories older than language. The land didn’t just welcome us—it recognized us. Sandia Peak followed, with its sweeping views and thin air that made us feel like we were standing between worlds.
And maybe we were.
Somewhere along the highway, we entered what felt like a dimensional tunnel. Time stretched and collapsed. The road elongated and shortened in impossible ways. The world around us glitched—once as we entered, and again as we emerged nearly three days later. It wasn’t just a drive. It was a crossing.
Spiritually, all four of us experienced something profound. It felt like home—not the kind you build, but the kind that builds you. Ancestral. Elemental. Like our bones remembered something our minds had forgotten.
This wasn’t just a trip. It was a psychological breakthrough. A soul-level recalibration. We returned changed—more aligned, more awake, more us.
